Hey, my name is Nick Leake. I’m a web designer who digs drawing and riding bikes. I live in Baltimore and work at the US Treasury, helping them build better tools and websites. I also teach UX design to grad students at Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA).
I grew up in rural Virginia, studied film in college, then worked in journalism for a few years. After playing webmaster for the local papers, I designed software for USA TODAY. Having reporters tear apart my work sparked my appreciation for craft and research. Afterwards, I bopped around the DC consulting microcosm before joining the civil service.
Outside of making government forms suck less, I also design for small businesses. I’ve done creative work for all sorts: nonprofits, old coworkers, even the local tattoo shop. If you’ve got a bold idea, I can help you bring it to life. Email me or let's connect on social media via the links below.
