About Nick

Nick Leake is a web designer studying lettering, illustration, and CSS. He works at the U.S. Treasury, building inclusive apps, websites, and design systems. He also teaches design at Maryland Institute College of Art and dabbles in freelance creative work.

Nick has served many industries including government, healthcare, education, finance, and journalism. He led a team modernizing refugee case management systems at USCIS. He also designed features for a faster digital publishing platform at the USA TODAY Network. Nick earned a BS degree in film from James Madison University, minoring in creative writing and biology.

Nick works on art and technology that builds bridges and tears down walls. He is interested in work for public education, social justice, and environmental conservation. He's not interested in projects supporting defense, surveillance, crypto, or fossil fuels.
